A study recently published in "Nature: Scientific Reports" found the use of small doses of psychedelics resulted in a reduction of anxiety and depression symptoms among participants. The international study led by the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO) included more than 8,500 people from 75 countries who used an anonymous self-reporting system.

Cybin Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on progressing ™Psychedelics to Therapeutics™, today announced it has awarded a grant for the first psychedelic treatment clinic at Lenox Hill Hospital, part of Northwell Health, to serve marginalized and underserved communities on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. The program aims to become one of the first hospital-based clinical sites to offer psychedelic medicine in the United States.

Experts say that psychedelic drugs, along with psychotherapy, can help treat PTSD as well as depression. More veterans are turning to psychedelic drug-assisted therapy as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder as well as other mental health conditions such as depression. Veterans advocates are urging the Department of Veterans Affairs to consider psychedelic drugs such as MDMA as part of the agency’s treatment programs.

Drug overdose deaths in the United States surpassed 100,000 in a 12-month period for the first time, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday... Deaths due to opioids — mostly synthetic opioids, including fentanyl — accounted for more than 75 percent of the deaths.
